THE ENVIRONMENT

Villa Kimmi is located in Ierápetra, in the south of Crete. The small mountain village is an ideal starting point for exploring the unspoilt south of Crete. In the surrounding villages you can meet the villagers at their daily work and give you an insight into traditional culture and crafts. The villages of Episkopi, Anatoli, Agia, Joannis or Kavousi offer a number of monuments, monasteries and secluded beaches.

Every summer, from mid-July to the end of August, the traditional festival of "Kyrvia" is held in Ierápetra - with many cultural activities.

THE MONASTERY OF MONI KAPSA
Moni Kapsa is located about 32 km east of Ierápetra. Marvel at the snow-white monastery in the grey rocky desert between sky and sea.

MILONA'S GORGE AND
WATERFALL

The Milonas Gorge is located 7 km east of Ierapetra. It starts on the road between the villages of Agios Ioannis and Schinokapsala at an altitude of 500m. The gorge has several small waterfalls and lakes. Pack your bathing suit and enjoy a hike in the beautiful nature.

KNOSSOS
and Crete's most famous building
Knossos was an ancient city around 1600 BC. The Palace of Knossos is one of the most popular archaeological sites in Greece. Remains from the Minoan era are the setting for an ancient legend. Immerse yourself in history and marvel at thousands of years old wall paintings and artistically decorated storage vessels, also known as pithoi.
